Day of Reckoning – Sue Ryder

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who braved the cold to support Day of Reckoning and donated to the Sue Ryder retiring collection – those of you who came will be delighted to hear that the hall now has a new boiler which will make future visits in cold weather far more comfortable!
We have received the following letter from Sue Ryder:

“I am writing to you on behalf of the Sue Ryder fundraising team in the South West to thank you for supporting us during your recent production by holding exit collections. I am delighted to tell you that thanks to the generosity of your audience, you managed to raise a fantastic £172.12! This amount would cover the daily cost of a nurse as well as providing a programme of bereavement sessions to help someone cope with loss.

At Sue Ryder, we believe every person living with any kind of incurable illness has the right not just to receive specialist medical care, but also the emotional support they need to cope with the difficult and distressing effects of their illness. Even more than that, we believe they deserve as much flexibility and freedom as possible to live out the rest of their lives in the way that they want. But this level of care comes at a price, a price that is becoming increasingly difficult to afford. It is thanks to the support of the local community that we are able to continue offering incredible care to those living with incurable illness.

Many thanks once again for your support and we hope that you would like to be involved in fundraising events in the future.”

Again, many thanks from HTC for your support and generosity.
