The next HTC Singers meeting is on

After being nominated by HTC’s Laura Thomas, on 12th January 2012 JACK fm announced Horfield Theatre Company to be their 'Team of the Year'.

So on 17th February, Laura and HTC Secretary, Teresa Derrick drove through the empty Bristol roads to be at the JACK fm radio studio in Ashton by 8am where we met Anna who is the Listener of the Year, there with her young daughter. We were taken up to the station’s offices where we were made to feel very comfortable with a hot drink.

After a very short time, we (now known as the Muggles) were taken into the studio itself where we met the 'That Morning Thing' team – Downsy, Richard and Alice as well as Downsy’s gorgeous dog, Cassie. We were able to sit with them while they entertained the listeners and learnt how the programme is put together, in between the bulletins, news, competition and music – all at the touch of a button – excellent until the internet goes down which recently happened in the middle of a visit from their Chairman!

Then came the moment of the 'award ceremony' itself! With a roll of the drum, ours was the second award to be given which we accepted with due modesty and then got in a good plug for our website and current production, 'Confusions' before we were told off for going on too long!

We were then invited to stay until the end of the programme, joining in with comments on occasion and afterwards had photos taken with the team.

A very enjoyable and fun morning... thank you JACK fm... you chose the right team!!!!

Following a break for productions, we are happy to announce the new term for HTC Singers which starts on:

29th February 2012
8pm – 10pm in Horfield Parish Church Hall

Running every Wednesday from 8pm - 10pm
(excluding 7th & 28th March and 25th April)
culminating in a concert on 24th June (to be confirmed)

Open to Full Members aged 16+ of Horfield Theatre Company at a cost of £25 for the term
